STARTED
Linda Tjiong has sent in her changes for Sem 4 MSN, including the new syllabus. Annie is going to check them. YEAH, we have an MSN PD!
MSN Sem 1,2,3 do not need discussions with D1,D2 etc. there is a discussion every week. Sem 6 DOES need the D1, D2 because weeks 5-10 are skipped – no discussion so week 11 D5 is correct and helpful.
MSN Sem 6 needs to have a Reflective JOurnal. I set up a Journal in the MASTER Sem 6 to let the PD and instructor see what it is like. Will need to install something in the classroom this week.
MSOL SEm 4 has a bunch of new links for readings…. THis is an emergaency fix. THe old links suddenly are only showing an abstract.
The new Trackit 8.5 has arrived… need to uninstall 7 and re-install 8.5
Carl Pinkham has a Flash card fix.
INstalled Trackit 8.5
Elizabeth is proposing a change to the student reources for MSIA and MSBC.
FINISHED
BIG problem with student not having a recommended article in MSN Sem 3 for quant. research. Spent most of Tues. writing emails, and researching old classrooms. Finnally got a PDF and a journal link from library and put those into reading spreadsheet and reading page.
Broken link in MSOL Sem 5 – fixed.
FInished the update to MSN Sem 6 classroom to use a Journal for student entries.
PROBLEMS
Pat Riccio in MSN Sem 3 says she recommends a 1999 article for the Quant. research articel. Students go nuts trying to find the article using ILLoan etc. She also uses the discussion bin to ask ALL kinds of questions and the students get very confused about which one is for the actual posted discussion question and do they all add toward the grade?
A stdent in MSN Sem 6 says they can not start a new discussions topic… they never have been able to. Only instructor can create a new topic.
I need to check this out, but alot of my discussion directions dissappeared after I changed the name. I think I was going too fast for Angel and it received a accept changes at the same time as change the view from html to text; and this resulted in loss of the directions text.
